Hello and welcome to 

CURTAIN UP

I have been an performer, producer, director, and educator my entire adult career. I have worked in the theatre, film, television and radio both in Canada and Stateside. I have created voices for cartoons and commercials. I have worked with celebrities, and with those who were not. But nevertheless, extremely talented. I have known feast and famine; and I know one thing:

the importance of training in the arts is an invaluable asset in life.

I love to work with children because their hearts are open and their love is boundless. They learn and gain confidence in all things by studying the Arts. The skills taught at our school are missing in the regular educational curricula, and if you want to give your child an enhanced, value added life, our performing arts school will deliver the joy and the artistry required for a rounded education.

WHAT WE DO

       

  • we help to socialize and encourage empathy​

  • we teach how to play well together

  • we encourage developing a sense of humour and co-operation with others

  • through dance we explore the grace and movement of the body in space

  • through singing we learn where the voice comes from, exploring volume contral and modulation

  • through acting we discover imagination and creativity solidifying self-esteem

"THE MAIN EVENT" Ages 7yrs-16yrs 

 

  • ​​​research says there's reason to believe that: 

  • music stimulates your child's brain

  • dance helps develop motor skills, 

  • drama teaches defining and managing emotions while problem solving.

  • at Curtain Up do all of the above and more in the one and a half hours that your child is with us.

  • students learn the fundamentals of stage performance while at the same time noticing that the  techniques are useful in life too!
